Alex Wilson

Alex Wilson has over 25 years of experience designing, implementing, and sustaining international humanitarian programs. Currently he is the Director of Philanthropy at the International Rescue Committee, where he leads a team to build relationships and secure resources to help people affected by humanitarian crises—including the climate crisis—to survive, recover, and rebuild their lives. Prior to the IRC, Alex led fundraising efforts at CBM International to support people with disabilities in crisis-affected countries, in particular the provision of inclusive eye health care and programming to tackle Neglected Tropical Diseases.

Alex has also helped implement humanitarian programming, serving as the Deputy Director for Latin America at Lutheran World Relief where he oversaw coffee and cocoa agricultural value chain projects in Central America and emergency response efforts after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. He started his career as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala.

Alex holds a B.A. from Wake Forest University and an MDiv from Yale University. He is a native of Dallas, Texas.
