A child’s life shouldn’t depend on where they’re born.
Too many children in Uganda die from illnesses we know how to treat. We’re building the first purpose-built pediatric & outpatient hospital to change that.
The need is urgent. The stakes are life & death.
Uganda is one of the youngest countries in the world – nearly 23 million people are children. Yet, with only about 300 pediatricians nationwide, that’s 1.3 pediatricians for every 100,000 children.
In Uganda, there isn’t a single ICU dedicated exclusively to children. Sadly, limited neonatal care means that too many newborns won’t survive their first days of life.
Uganda’s infant mortality rate is more than 5x higher than in the United States. Without action, preventable illnesses will continue to claim young lives.
This Is About Children. Families. Futures.
For the first time in the history of Mengo Hospital, pediatric services will be housed in one centralized, purpose-built facility. This will ensure a seamless continuum of care from diagnosis to recovery for over 70,000 children a year, saving over 2,000 lives.
Let's expand care in Uganda & save lives.
